El Camino Real Sewer Main Improvements & Adeline Drive Water Main Improvements
Scope: The El Camino Real sewer main improvement work shall consist of replacing and installing new sewer mains in the City of Burlingame. Approximately 670 linear feet of new 12-inch, 925 linear feet of new 10-inch, and 2,063 linear feet of new 8-inch High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) sewer main will be installed along El Camino Real with tie-ins at the intersections of Trousdale Dr., Ray Dr., Albemarle Way, Westmoor Rd., Sherman Ave., Broadway, Sanchez Ave., Edgehill Dr., Forest View Ave., Palm Dr., Arc Way, and Willow Ave. The construction method is anticipated to be pipe-bursting with portions of conventional open trench and spot repair. One existing manhole will be abandoned, one new manhole will be installed, and one existing manhole will be brought to grade. Approximately 25 existing sewer laterals will be removed, replaced, and reconnected to the new main. Miscellaneous concrete work will be performed as needed and will consist of approximately 400 square feet of concrete sidewalk. Minor asphalt work for pavement restoration, traffic control, and temporary bypass pumping will also be required.
The Adeline Drive water main improvements work shall consist of replacing and installing a new water main in the City of Burlingame. Approximately 390 linear feet of new 6-inch Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP) water main will be installed along El Camino Real with tie-ins at the intersection of Adeline Dr. The water main will typically be installed at three-and-a-half feet minimum cover in the Caltrans right of way and three feet minimum cover within Burlingame right of way. One fire hydrant assembly will be installed. The new water main consists of twelve 6-inch fittings and thrust blocks, two 6-inch gate valves, and removing one existing blow off valve. Miscellaneous concrete work will be performed as needed and will consist of approximately 40 square feet of concrete sidewalk and 10 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter. Minor asphalt work for pavement restoration, traffic control, and temporary bypass pumping will also be required.
