  • Black Freedom Struggle: This website contains approximately 1,600 primary source documents focused on six different phases of Black Freedom. (Free resource)
  • Brookings Institution: Conducting research in economics, governmental studies, foreign policy, and the social sciences. Brookings is one of the oldest think tanks in the US and is an independent, nonpartisan organization devoted to research, analysis, and public education. (Free resource)
  • California Digital Newspaper Collection:  A freely accessible repository of digitized California newspapers from 1846 to the present.
  • Economist Country Briefings:  Profiles and current articles concerning each country. Search the topics area as the original country briefings pages are no longer updated. (Free resource)
  • PubMed:  A powerful database developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information at the National Library of Medicine containing or linking to over 20 million citations, many of them free.
  • World FactBook: Key fact, maps, statistics, demographics, and a brief history of many countries.
